View artistic gems in Carolina Galleries and Artist Studios
There is a reason that so many accomplished artists end up in the foothills and mountains of North and South Carolina far removed from their prior lives in the fast lane with a series of unending dead lines and unceasing demands on their time. The best environment to pursue one’s art form is one that inspires without outside distractions. And our Blue Ridge environment has these qualities in spades. Inspiration abounds in these green rolling valleys and peaks along with the prerequisite solitude the artistic types require to best facilitate the creative process their works desire if spontaneous creations of works of art are to become a reality. On our Carolina Getaways web site we will be featuring as many accomplished mountain artists as we can find that share their body of work with you through their web site. These working artists will practice their craft in every persuasion including painters, sculptors, photographers, wood workers, blacksmiths, calligraphers, jewelers, fiber artists, interior and graphic designers, and many other disciplines in the arts.
Here in the upcountry, we seek to both raise awareness of the arts community as well as promote the pockets of arts district’s found throughout our Blue Ridge Mountains in an effort to point the way to studios and galleries of interest. We will make day trippers aware of the scheduled Gallery Hops and Go Rounds in the specific art’s community as they arise. We believe you will see that these artist communities have infused new life and energy into each historic arts district nestled away in their mountain home, each one being a vibrant community in their own right. During your travels, as you view mixed media exhibitions in a specific gallery, you will appreciate the level of skill and expertise that our accomplished mountain artists display with their creations. While some of these artists encourage visits to their private studios to obtain a taste of their work while giving excellent opportunity to gain insights into their thought processes, more work can be covered by going to the clusters of art galleries and gift shops throughout the Carolina Mountains.
Join the growing trend of art lovers that leave their regional metropolitan city homes in search of just the right piece of art to adorn their coffee tables and walls at the end of their weekend getaway search. Visitors enjoy tweaking their hunter/gatherer gene in their search for artistic trinkets nestled away in mountain galleries scattered across scenic attractions. Traveling along the Heritage Corridor with occasional stops to view our history filled points of interest, each new gallery destination is an opportunity to reap the benefit of the creative process of the many artists who live and work here. Works of art that inspires plus a magical landscape to visit: from the wide open rolling mountains and foothills of the Blue Ridge range to the intimate cascading waterfalls and the lovingly restored heritage of Appalachian Mountain Townships.
